Oldearthis an award-winning international design studio founded by Benjamin Snell. Now headquartered in Berlin, the studio operates globally, providing digitally focused services across art direction, graphic, motion and sound design.
Through a collaborative, concept-driven approach, Oldearth delivers progressive visual communication for clients in music, fashion, sport, and commerce. From brand development to campaign execution, the studio’s work is defined by bold ideas, considered craft, and a deep understanding of contemporary culture.
Oldearth Design was commissioned to create the brand identity for Unjumble, a Sydney-based marketing agency and intelligent business networking platform.
Rooted in the idea of clarity through order, the identity takes inspiration from the José Saramago quote: “Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered.” The wordmark features abstract forms that appear nonsensical alone but align to reveal structure and intent. This visual metaphor speaks to Unjumble’s mission—navigating digital complexity to deliver clear, strategic outcomes in a shifting algorithmic world.
02.Beelzebub
Berlin, Germany
2024 Graphic Design
Oldearth Design led the creation of bold, cinematic titling and campaign visuals for BEELZEBUB, an immersive exhibition and film by Anna Van der Velde.
The project demanded a striking visual identity that could carry across both digital and physical formats — from large-scale posters to motion assets. Inspired by the psychological intensity of the narrative, the typographic treatment was designed to feel iconic and unnerving, mirroring the exhibition’s exploration of grief, distortion and dual realities. The result was a cohesive graphic system with lasting visual impact.
03.Art Gallery of Western Australia
Perth, Australia
2020-2022Graphic Design
Oldearth Design contributed to the rebrand of The Art Gallery of Western Australia, working under ThinkTank Design with Scott Mellor as Creative Director.
Benjamin Snell served as Senior Designer on the project, helping develop a bold, structured identity that allowed the art—and artists—to take centre stage. Rooted in the gallery’s renewed social mission, the system was designed to communicate cultural value with clarity and confidence. The result was a flexible visual language applied across all public touchpoints, from exhibitions and merchandise to digital platforms and institutional publishing.
For the launch of Nike’s Air Max DN8 campaign, directed by Anna van der Velde, Oldearth Design crafted an immersive sound design and score to match the film’s raw, kinetic visuals. Set deep within Berlin’s underground, the piece required a textured and cinematic approach. Blending live instrumentation, field recordings and layered sampling, we built a hypnotic soundscape that amplified the film’s atmosphere. Created in collaboration with The Face and Stink Films, the final mix delivered a high-impact audio experience across digital and broadcast platforms.
